SUPERSPORT TO EXERCISE TYSON OPTION?

-

Thulani Hlatshwayo’s contract with SuperSport United is set to

expire at the end of the season, but indications are that Tyson has done

more than enough to convince coach

Gavin Hunt to hold onto him beyond the current campaign.

The former Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates defender is having a rejuvenated season with the Tshwane outfit and will enter the last six months of his one-year contract after having joined the club from the Buccaneers in July this year, just in time for the start of the season.

There is an option to renew the player’s contract for a further year and, looking at the form he is in the moment, Matsatsantsa look set to exercise it.

Hlatshwayo, who turns 33 in December, has featured in 13 matches in all competitions and has managed to find the back of the net once this season, something he failed to do in two years at the Soweto giants.

As one of Hunt’s key men in the side, it is unsurprising to see Hlatshwayo top the list of players who have featured most prominently in all the matches for SuperSport this season, alongside his central defensive partner Thatayaone Ditlhokwe – no other player has featured more.

According to Siya sources, the club are more than satisfied with the player’s progress so far.

“This move couldn’t have come at a better time for Thulani. He is happy to be back with a coach that he loves and who understands him and he is playing regularly again. That is the most important part,” a source told the Siya crew.
