Concern over Mkhuma’s progress

-

Promise Mkhuma’s season is not advancing as anticipated and the Siya crew has been informed that there is concern around his lack of progress.

The player was loaned out to Swallows FC during the transfer window after he struggled to break into the team at Mamelodi Sundowns last season. A move always seemed on the cards for the 22-year-old due to his lack of gametime at Chloorkop.

Both the club and his camp felt it was best for him to make a move to get more opportunities to play, but the last few months have not played out as he would have wanted at Swallows. According to information provided to the Siya crew, the Sundowns product is not yet registered by the Dube Birds.

“He is not yet registered with us, but he has been training with us. We have to wait for the right moment for that (to register the player). But he is here training with the team,” Elasto Kapowezha told Soccer Laduma.

As previously reported by this publication, the Dobsonville-based club were handed a transfer ban by FIFA for monies owed to former players, Vladimir Mandic and Obren Cuckovic. It’s understood that the issue is still being resolved.

Depending on how things go in the coming weeks, Swallows could try to register Mkhuma in the January transfer window. Sundowns would also need to make a decision on what happens with the player if registration at the Dube Birds is not successful.
