GALLANTS TO MAKE MARAISANE DECISION
Marumo Gallants are set to make a decision on midfielder Pule Maraisane, who joined the club from Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the season.
Gallants, in August this year, announced the arrival of Maraisane, along with Ivorian midfielder Olivier Toure under then coach Romain Folz, following the player’s departure from the Chloorkop-based outfit.
The Polokwane-based side set the record straight after talk that the former junior international had joined the club on loan when he had in fact signed a one-year deal with them.
The deal also included an option to extend.
Since then, his progress at the club had stagnated and, to date, he had made just three appearances for coach Dan Malesela’s side. He has missed all of the club’s CAF Confederation Cup ties so far this season, which is a worrying sign for the attacker.
Now, with the Stars of Africa youth development product left with just over six months to run on his contract with Gallants, Siya sources have indicated that the future looks bleak for Maraisane at the club given his contribution so far.
Maraisane was on the books of Sundowns for a solitary season, but was unable to break into the starstudded side.
The 27-year-old made two appearances in all competitions for the Brazilians, coming on as a substitute in DStv Premiership matches against Sekhukhune United and Royal AM.
It now remains to be seen whether Maraisane manages to convince the club to hold onto his services upon the expiry of his contract in June 2023, or whether he will have to begin his search for a new club at the end of the campaign.
