SAFA willing to assist
A SAFA official who spoke to the Siya crew on condition of anonymity says the association is willing to help amateur clubs to get payment from professional outfits for the development of players.
“Training and development compensation is something that SAFA takes seriously and it is up to clubs to come forward whenever there are issues to do with such payments and the association will always be willing to assist”, explained the official.
They went on, “The CEO (Tebogo Motlanthe) is very passionate about this and wouldn’t want any situation where amateur clubs or academies feel hard done by due to non-payment for their players by professional clubs. SAFA is in support of amateur clubs in this, but it is up to clubs to come forward whenever there are problems.”
