‘TIS THE SEASON TO BE SILLY
It’s that time of year again when people will be traveling to different destinations to spend the festive season with their loved ones and I’m no exception as I will be traveling to Mokopane for the festive holidays. On behalf of the Soccer Laduma readers’ WhatsApp group, I would like to take this opportunity to wish fellow readers, the editorial team and rest of the staff a safe journey. Travel safely. Let’s us all be law-abiding citizens. Don’t drink and drive, rather smoke and fly. Our WhatsApp group had a great year, although we failed to reach our target of 200 members. Our plan of buying ourselves a banner was also unsuccessful, but as they say, a wise man tries and fails, but a wise man will never fail to try. I say this to say let’s try again next year, ladies and gentlemen. For all these years I have been contributing to MAKE YOUR POINT, I still jump for joy when I discover my letter has been published as people from my hometown can’t wait for Wednesday so as to see my name in the newspaper. However, what hurts me most is that Mokopane has produced many players lately, but none of them is prepared to give back to the community by organising soccer games around here. That said, I’d like to express my gratitude for the Mpho Annual Games to be held in Mapela, Ga-Mabuela and the Sidney Malope Festive Games in Nelly, Ga-Malope. I just wish the abovementioned tournaments could get sponsorships in future because to tell the truth, without kasi football, there is no professional football and certainly no Bafana Bafana. Cheers!
