“Bongani Zungu is a very good player. Wh en h e left Sundow ns to go to Europe, h e h ad already brough t a lot to Sundow ns and now th at h e h as come back to th e club, w e are expecting even more from h im because h e h as gained a lot more experience. You know , w h en you play in Europe, you gain more (experience). I remember last time, th e team from France (Amiens), th ey loaned Zungu to Glasgow Rangers and under Steven Gerrard, h e gained a lot. Even now h ere at Sundow ns, Zungu plays a big role in th e midfield, especially w ith th e dirty job, w h ich is very important in th e midfield because w e need aggression. I expect a lot from Zungu because h e is still young and h e h as maybe six or seven seasons (left in h im). As for th e fitness, h e is fine because in Europe and Africa, th ere is different food th at w e are eating. So, if you see th e body of European players, it’s like th ey are playing rugby, but th ey are not rugby players. It’s th e fitness from Europe because th ey need th e aggression, th e ph ysicality, h eigh t and all th e th ings th at are not considered h ere

in South Africa. You remember Keagan Dolly w h en h e came from France to Kaizer Ch iefs? Everyone w as talking and saying h e is too fat – it's not fat, it’s th e fitness from Europe. You know South Africa and Europe is totally different. I saw h e is maybe 96% compared to South African fitness. Th e Zungu from 2016 and th e Zungu from 2022 are different. Even th e football Sundow ns is playing is different. Sundow ns is adapting to th e football th at is being played by

Brazil at th e World Cup. We do not call it marath on football, w e play snooker football, w h ere th e ball must be rolled. We do not run like amateurs. He fits 100% at Mamelodi Sundow ns because w e play entertaining football and Zungu

w on't struggle to adapt to w h at w e are doing at th e club.”
