What they say about Oliver

-

She’s willing to put in the work Reneilwe Letsholonyane – Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder

“She’s done a great job to be where she is, working with Chippa (United) and Ubuntu (Cape Town),

to name a few teams, and coming this side (Gauteng). She briefly helped me with my boys (Pimville Young Stars) while she was still looking for a team and doing individual training sessions to keep herself busy and staying on the ball. She deserves to be where

she is because she’s willing to put in the work and to grow in the industry.”

I had to tell her to slow down Dylan Kerr – Former Swallows FC head coach

“She was with local teams, I think ABC Motsepe League, and maybe doing bits of work with

NFD (National First Division, officially called Motsepe Foundation Championship) teams. I remember (Mamelodi) Sundowns were looking, so I contacted Shawn Bishop, who

put her (name) forward to the youth/ women’s structures, but unfortunately it didn’t happen. When she moved to Johannesburg, I asked her to come in and watch training and also if our physio and fitness trainer needed some help could she be available, which she did free of charge. It was a good fit for both Lauren (Tate) and myself and I think it worked as far as input energy is concerned and more so, it was an unselfish role for her. At the end of the season, Lauren had already hinted she was leaving and because of Kasey’s work ethic and detail in her passion for her role, I appointed her as our fitness trainer.

I was happy that she rose to that challenge alongside Brendan During (Head Physiotherapist), whom I had worked with at (Black) Leopards. It took a few days for her to gel with the new players and remember we only had three weeks pre-season, but we managed through a good programme of warm-ups, agility, strength training. Plus, how I work is high intensity. We started very strong and were the statistically fittest team in all our games. The thing Kasey has is her energy and enthusiasm to grow, learn and get better whilst still learning. She was a perfect fit into* how I worked alongside Brendan as it’s important that we share the same vision of the players’ wellbeing. And of course, there were some clashes, but that’s a healthy thing to have because you don’t want complacency in the dressing room, be it (from) a player or technical member. She’s that excited about her role I had to tell her to slow down and concentrate on her role and let others deal with theirs, but it’s priceless. She is my double, will always be available if needed, or not, to help others, to

get the best out of them, and that is invaluable to a team.”
