Chiefs to test Stellies’ resolve over Rayners?

With Kaizer Chiefs looking to add to their firepower after a dismal 2023/24 season, the Siya Crew has been informed that they could once again look to Stellenbosch’s Iqraam Rayners.

Chiefs have done excellent business with Stellies in recent times with the likes of Ashley Du Preez, Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Zitha Kwinika all crossing the floor to the Glamour Boys.

Now, according to well-placed Siya sources, Chiefs will be looking to add to that figure and test Stellies’ resolve over their star striker.

The Glamour Boys had enquired about the 28-yearold before; however, Stellies made it clear that they have no intention of parting ways with their star man.

But the crew understands that Chiefs are willing to push the boundary to land the striker and are ready to enter into talks with the Cape Winelands outfit for the player.

“Chiefs have set up a meeting with Stellies where Rayners will be discussed. Chiefs need someone who can score goals for the team and Rayners has proven he is able to do that at every level,” a source close to matters told the Siya Crew.

Rayners has scored nine goals and registered six assists in 29 matches in all competitions this season.

It now remains to be seen if Chiefs manages to sway Stellies with an offer too hard to turn down – or whether they would have to look elsewhere for their next striker.
