Her love for travel and adventure has taken multi-award-winning journalist Glynis Horning (right) tandem hang-gliding in Rio, bungee jumping off a cliff in Mexico, backpacking solo in Madagascar, sailing in a disastrous Vasco da Gama yacht race, and climbing an active volcano in Zaire while covering the refugee crisis immediately after the Rwanda genocide. But her happiest breaks are with family. “Nothing beats camping in the Drakensberg with my husband and boys, or going on a roadtrip, like to Nkandla with my intrepid cousin Sue Parker-Smith, Thelma and Louise in a battered Honda with Batmobile floor mats.” Read In Search of the Other Nkandla on page 36.
