An avid traveller, Franci Henny’s choice of luggage is a surfboard under one arm and a camera bag on the other. Having toiled for decades in newsrooms, he is “finally unshackled”. As a result, when not living life on an ocean wave, he pursues his passions for photojournalism and art. Franci spent a number of years studying art (his paintings have featured in successful exhibitions), and now has the time to seriously “splash some paint”. When the opportunity arose to cover and participate in a fairly intensive, five-day art workshop in historic Tulbagh, it was a match made in heaven. Read Franci’s story Painting the Town of Tulbagh on page 54.
