INSPIRATIONS: A SPRING COCKTAIL
Welcome the new season with a burst of tropical colour
Make this spring a bright one
Preparation is important. If there are visible knots in the wood, treat them with a knotting agent and prime nail heads with a steel primer.
Apply one coat of wood primer. For very absorbent wood, two coats may be required. Alternatively, you could use Dulux Supergrip if using waterbased paint. Special attention must be given to painting the end grain to avoid moisture penetration – apply a second coat after 10 – 20 minutes.
For best results, follow this with a universal undercoat.
To finish, apply a water-based enamel such as Dulux PearlGlo. It’s available in a variety of tinted colours and has a mid-sheen finish.
