Consider the space before deciding on a particular shape; some models are bigger than others and you don’t want to crowd the deck or patio.

If you want to leave it out all year round, choose one made from long-lasting aluminium or good quality branded artificial wicker. Look out for new technology loungers. The fabric is UV resistant and the cushions are made from quickdrying foam, which if out in the rain, dries completely within half an hour.

Choose a style in keeping with your existing outdoor furniture. If you already have artificial wicker furniture it makes sense to choose a lounger in the same material.

Make sure the lounger or sunbed is comfortable. Try it out in the store first.

If you need to move the loungers on a regular basis, choose ones that are lightweight. On the other hand, if your outdoor living area experiences strong winds, it may be better to choose models that can’t be blown over easily.
