South African Garden and Home - - Fragrant Climbers -

One of the most popular fragrant climbers, wisteria should be pruned every year in December and again in winter (July). However, if pruned too severely, it won’t f lower the next season or two. If it hasn’t been pruned in many years, only cut back branches halfway the first year and do the same for the next 2–3 years until there are branches with 2–3 buds. Wisteria is deciduous and bears f lowers on almost bare branches.
