Po­si­tion: It prefers par­tial sun on a trel­lis against a wall or a medium-sized obelisk.

Plant: Plant it any time of the year.

Add lots of com­post and a handful of bone­meal to the soil. Feed in win­ter with or­ganic pel­lets.

Size: 2–3m high, although it might climb slightly higher than that, and 2m wide.

Wa­ter needs: Wa­ter deeply once a week. Good drainage is im­por­tant, so add com­post 2–3 times a year. Ex­cess wa­ter around the plant will kill it.

Frost tol­er­ance: Can take light frost. Pro­tect from heavy frost.
