Correct positioning prevents the greenhouse from becoming overheated. Ideally it should receive six to eight hours of mostly morning sun, with protection from the hot late-afternoon sun especially in summer.

Position it facing north to south to prevent tall plants creating shadows.

A portable greenhouse can be moved to different areas in summer and winter.

Sun can be cut out with shade cloth and ventilation controlled by opening windows and doors.

Pests are often attracted by the humidity and warmth inside a greenhouse. Vigilance and regular inspections are key to catching them early.
