Blame men for teenage pregnancies

- Mamelato Leopeng,

I WOULD like to share a little wisdom with Abe Mokoena, who wrote the letter headlined “Come on girls, get an education” on July 10.

It takes two to tango. If a girl gets pregnant a man is responsible.

I am sick and tired of girls or women being blamed for teenage pregnancy.

A man sleeps with a woman to conceive. He can make 10 or 20 women pregnant in a year.

You rape our kids, you force yourself on them without a condom and then you blame girls for the pregnancy.

A woman has never had sex with herself and made a baby.

Stop and think before you give stupid advice.

How many kids have you rejected?

Stop your emotional abuse. Organise workshops on sexual behaviour to empower men and boys.

Men must stop discrediting sex workers because they are the clients. If men stopped going to brothels we would not have sex workers.

You must look at yourself before you criticise girls. Boys are raping us and then they leave school. That’s why our prisons are so full.

You blame girls but forget that men have raped 12-year-old girls and made them pregnant.

How many boys are standing on street corners waiting for girls to come back from school? You are a chauvinist.
