Wana strikes big off the football field
‘ HE MAKES BABIES AND FAILS TO MAINTAIN ’
THIS striker seems to have good aim on, and off, the pitch!
Engen Santos FC striker Vuyisile Wana, 28, is accused of being a dead-beat dad by one of his ex-girlfriends – Disebo Ranyane, 24, of Odendaalsrus in Free State, the player’s hometown.
Ranyane also went as far as dragging the player to maintenance court, where the case is still to be heard.
To make matters worse, Wana also fathered a now six-month-old baby girl with Palesa Mmagawu, 21, also from Odendaalsrus.
It seems he is also a striker off the pitch as both Ranyane and Mmagawu independently claim Wana has another baby in the area with a third woman, whose identity is known to Sowetan.
All three women live within four streets of each other, and Wana’s mother’s home is in the same area.
Ranyane poured her heart out to Sowetan, explaining the difficulties she faced without Wana’s financial support.
“I have a three-year-old with him and he doesn’t support him,” Ranyane said.
“He doesn’t even visit his son. When I call him, he avoids my calls.
“I took him to maintenance court in Odendaalsrus and (the court) ordered him to pay R2 500 a month. He didn’t pay it.
“I stopped the order because he said he would pay, this is after he was told to pay by his elders.
“I’m going to re-open the case because he clearly doesn’t want to maintain this child.” she added.
An official, who asked not to be named because he may not talk to the media, at the maintenance court acknowledged Ranyane opened a file again.
“My mother passed away and I’m staying with my father who is unemployed.
“I had to drop out of school. I don’t work and I have to support my child.
“Vuyisile ’ s family acknowledges the child and want him to support his own son,” Ranyane added.
Mmagawu claimed that Wana is financially supportive, but his family is not supportive.
“He helps where he can when it comes to the child. We are a couple, I don’t have a problem with him.
“I know he has a child with someone here in Odendaalsrus.
“His family is not supportive, his mother still hasn’t come to see the baby.
“She failed to come when the child was still smaller. I don’t know how it would help if she came now.”
Wana, who at the height of his game played for the national senior team, when contacted for comment, said he did not have a third baby in Odendaalsrus.
He only texted, while at training: “I don’t have a baby with ... (the third woman in Odendaalsrus).
“The father of that baby is in jail ... and don’t write a wrong story. This thing is going too far now.”
He failed to answer calls after training and failed to respond to SMS requests to talk after his training session. –
