Meet Generations new actor
CARMEL JOINS POPULAR SOAPIE
ACTRESS Carmel Fisher has been secretly shooting with Gen
erations since last month. She plays the role of Sindi, a law graduate who enters into a polygamous marriage.
At first Fisher wanted to deny that she has joined the soapie, but after Sowetan told her that we saw a locker with her name on it while attending a Genera
tions event, she gave in. “I’m happy to be part of this A-list production. It’s good to be reuniting with Katlego Danke,
pictured , with whom I have worked at Backstage when we started out in our careers.
“Besides her, Generations has a lot of talented and experienced actors the country has to offer,” she says.
Though her character is entering into a polygamous marriage, Fisher says Sindi is a decent girl.
Generations publicist Nyagunda Ngwenya says Fisher’s scenes will start showing at the end of this month.
“Right now her character will come into the soapie to support a certain storyline. It will depend on the writers if it will be a short-term or long-term role,” Nyagunda says.
She hinted that Fisher’s role might be linked to Luthuli Dlamini’s character but viewers must be glued to their screens to see the soapie’s storyline evolve.
Fisher has been in the acting industry for more than 10 years and has appeared on shows such as Rhythm City, High Rollers and 90 Plein Street, among others.
Besides acting and being a voice-over artist, Fisher says she also runs an events management company that keeps her going during dry seasons. –
