BABSY Mlangeni’s wife Motlalepula, 47, died on Saturday at the Bertha Gxowa hospital, in Germiston.

The 70-year-old 1980s singing sensation has suffered a second blow after losing his son Tshepo, 27, last month.

“I have known Motlalepula for 30 years and we were married for 10 years.

“She was my everything and I feel lost without her,” he said.

Mlangeni, who is blind, started his pop music career in the 1960s and now also owns an event organising company.

The father of five surviving children said only God knows why he had to lose both his wife, who succumbed to cervical cancer, and his son, who suffered from stomach ulcers, in such a short space of time.

“I am still healing from the loss of my brother Bigboy and now I have new pain from the double loss that I have to deal with,” he said.

His wife was a loving woman, he said, and a self-starter, who hosted many women network sessions, because she believed in empowering women.

“She also co-founded Kotulo , a company that specialised in printing of any material for a variety of purposes,” he said.

Mlangeni said his wife would be buried on Friday after a service at the DH Williams Hall in Katlehong, East Rand, from 8am.
