AJAX Cape Town coach Muhsin Ertugral is hoping Aiden Jenniker and Granwald Scott will be fit to bolster the team for the visit of Kaizer Chiefs next week as the treatment room at the club starts to clear.

Fullback Jenniker went off injured one week ago when they beat Free State Stars in their last home game and missed the weekend trip to play University of Pretoria.

Scott has been battling with a groin problem although Ertugral previously suggested much of it was “in his head” after doctors failed to find the cause of his discomfort.

Back at the weekend were Tariq Losper, who required knee surgery at the start of the season, and Nhlanhla Shabalala, the midfield hard man who has had a depressing catalogue of injury setbacks in his career. Both were used as substitutes in the goalless draw against AmaTuks on Saturday night.

Ertugral rates Losper as a “very exciting player”.

Ajax have been limping through the start of the new season but won four points out of six in their last two games and moved away from the foot of the Premier Soccer League table. They are 14th, with six points from seven matches.

Teenage goalkeeper Brandon Pietersen has also made a full recovery from his recent head knock, added Ertugral, but the new Finnish signing Anssi Jaakkola seems to have established himself as first choice, especially after his heroics in keeping AmaTuks at bay.

The Urban Warriors had as many as 10 players out injured two weeks ago but many are now back in training. RIO DE JANEIRO – Fifa said it was postponing the second round of ticket sales for next year ’ s World Cup to comply with a request by Brazilian authorities to monitor the process.

“In order to ensure the Brazilian authorities’ involvement in supervising the procedures for the allocation of tickets following the first sales period, Fifa have had to postpone the draw,” football’s world governing body said on its website. Results of the draw for applicants for the tickets requested in the first round will now be known only on November 10 and not on Monday (November 4), as previously agreed. Therefore Fifa decided to put off the start of the next sales period from Tuesday (November 5) to November 11.

“As the next sales period is on a first come, first served basis, it is essential that all those applicants for tickets from the first period have been informed on the status of their application by the time we reopen sales,” explained Fifa’s director of marketing Thierry Weil.

“We cannot risk any fan not being aware of his or her success before we put the remaining tickets on the market. Obviously, our priority is to ensure every applicant has an equal chance of success.” –
