THULANI KEEN TO FACE AMAKHOSI

Rodgers not settled

- Nick Said

THULANI Hlatshwayo has told Ajax Cape Town coach Muhsin Ertugral he will be ready to face Kaizer Chiefs.

The struggling Urban Warriors host the league champions at the Cape Town Stadium in an only Absa Premiership match tomorrow night, with Ertugral having to once again scour the club ’ s medical bay to see which of his walking wounded are ready for selection.

But the coach should have no concerns over Bafana Bafana rightback Hlatshwayo, who is desperate to play despite picking up a concussion just minutes into their 00 draw against University of Pretoria nine days ago.

“He has told me he wants to play, that he is ready to play, so we will see,” Ertu- gral said. “It is fantastic to have a player like Hlatshwayo and I don ’ t know how many concussions and injury he has had recently, but he just keeps bouncing back. I am proud to have a player like that, who just wants to play no matter what. ”

That is the good news for Ertugral but there was more bad news last week when experienced striker Nathan Paulse limped out of training.

“I have never experienced in all my years of professional football so many injured players like this ... and serious injuries, too, that have had to be operated on. It ’ s incredible bad luck,” Ertugral said. Midfielder Granwald Scott is a massive doubt for the Chiefs game, while winger Franklin Cale is out for the season along with Nazeer Allie [hip], Travis Graham [knee] and Ndumiso Vezi [knee].

Defender Aiden Jenniker resumed training on Friday and will be

moni- tored to see if he will be ready to face Amakhosi.

Meanwhile, Ertugral added that he was unsure whether on-loan striker Eleazar Rodgers will start against Chiefs after admitting he was battling to adapt to the way Ajax play following his move from Mamelodi Sundowns.
