Has Jomo found his mojo?

- Ramatsiyi Moholoa

JOMO Cosmos are convinced they have found their rhythm after registering three consecutive victories – two in the league and one in a friendly match in Johannesburg yesterday.

Ezenkosi continued with their good form by hammering Mozambican soccer giants Maxaquene 4-0 in a practice match at their training ground in Rosettenville.

Ivorian Bryce Aka, Thulasizwe Ndlovu, Lehlohonolo Nonyane and Papi Mngomezulu scored for Cosmos, owned and coached by Jomo Sono. They are gradually climbing up the ladder in the National First Division.

Maxaquene have two South Africans in their squad in Marvin Oakes and Mthimkulu Mfike. They also have former Orlando Pirates striker and Malawian international Chiukepo Msowoya playing for them.

The Mozambican side are here for pre-season training ahead of their 2014 league campaign. Cosmos are preparing for the away league game against FC Cape Town in the Mother City on Saturday.

Following a poor start to the season, Cosmos are now eighth on the log after two consecutive 1-0 victories against African Warriors and Milano United.

“The league is a marathon and we are taking each game as it comes but we are happy everything is now going well for us. There is no turning back. It’s too early to start talking about winning the league,” said Cosmos manager Bamuza Sono.
