POLICE have retrieved the naked body of a Mpumalanga government official from a pit toilet, allegedly at the home of a traditional healer, almost a week after he went missing.

The father of five was reported missing on February 14.

The body of Samuel Mandla Sithole, 41, was found hours after his silver Volkswagen Polo was found parked at a car wash on Thursday last week.

Mpumalanga police spokes- man Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the discovery of the car led police to the secluded area 35km from Sithole ’ s home where they found “his naked body inside a pit latrine ”.

A family member of the late Sithole of White River, said workers at the car wash allegedly saw a well-known local

parking the car and leaving.

The family member, acting as family spokesman, did not want to be named.

Sithole was an official in the bursaries section of the Mpumalanga department of education, spokesman Jasper Zwane confirmed.

Mohlala said they were investigating a murder case and a man in his 40s was taken in for questioning on Saturday.

He would not say whether the man questioned was an or spiritual healer. He said there were rumours of an allegedly being involved in the killing.

Mohlala said investigations were continuing.
