David Tlale sniffs an opportunity

David Tlale, the popular celebrity fashion designer, launches his new perfume for men and women in the coming months.
Yesterday, Tlale confirmed that development of the scent was at an advanced stage but declined to divulge the ingredients.
He labelled the business move as the evolution of his brand in fashion.
“It has come at the right time. What we are working on is not just a fashion brand, but a lifestyle brand. We want people to not just wear David Tlale clothes but also have eyewear, shoes and things like that. Our first point of departure is perfumery. It ’ s easy for someone to buy a perfume as opposed to buying a dress, which will probably be worn once at an event,” said Tlale.
The perfume is on the 12th week of quality testing, and will be named after him.
“I will definitely endorse the product but there will be a campaign for the face of the product. It will be a big thing. Some of the information is premature because we are still busy with the project, it ’ s just that some people like talking,” he laughed.
The perfume will be in stores from November 1.
