FOREWORD FROM THE SPONSOR, DENEL

-

IN CELEBRATING Youth Month, Denel has found it necessary to also support the Sowetan ’ s Top 100 Young Bosses supplement.

A supplement of this nature is a powerful statement of confidence that recognises the effective role that youth ought to play in shaping SA ’ s economic climate.

For this number of young people to be multiplied, it means public and private sector organisations must create the necessary enablers to bring about change.

As a state-owned company Denel is keenly aware of the contribution it can provide in transforming the economy.

One such contribution can be found in the companyl ’ s investment in young people, like 34-year-old Julia Petla, managing director of Amedzo Trading & Projects, and 30-year-old Nthabeleng Likotsi, who provides building maintenance and engineering consulting services to Denel.

With a procurement budget that in the last financial year has risen by R900m, Denel will continue to identify products and services that may be ring-fenced for small and emerging black companies in order to increase spend on blackowned companies, particularly youth-owned companies.

Congratulations to the Sowetan ’ s Top 100 Young Bosses!
