DEYATUKA Trading was established in October 2009 by two entrepreneurial brothers, Vhathuka and Sifiso Mbelengwa.

In 2011, they set up a model called the Spaza Shop Company in Diepsloot Mall selling electricity and airtime to low-income earners. Masisizane Fund provided loans to buy handheld terminals to supply to spaza shops, and the brothers bought another 1 000 machines with funding from the Department of Trade and Industry.
