SINGER Donald Moatshe is on a quest to redeem his sound by kissing and making up with his old-time producer Chris Jay, who made hits for him before they had a fallout.

Sowetan has learned that the I Deserve hit-maker is trying to court Jay – real name Samuel Sebi – the man behind his hits Over the Moon,

I Deserve and Denial on his hit album Train of Love.

Sebi produced every track on the platinum-selling, BET Award-nominated album.

According to media reports, the two parties fell out over money after the locally based Ghanaian producer accused Moatshe of short-changing him. The matter was settled before it got to court.

Moatshe allegedly contacted other hit-makers in an attempt to save his career following his less commercially successful follow-up album titled Black & White.

Train of Love was officially released in January 2012 and reached platinum status a couple of years later.

Sebi confirmed that he is in talks with Moatshe to “revisit a couple of ideas ” and said he initiated the idea years before the quarrel, but the singer showed interest only recently.

“From a business point of view, I don ’ t mind. I ’ m willing to work and sometimes it ’ s about putting pride down. Look, sometimes being a man is about being able to confront the truth. I ’ m open to the idea but I want all egos to be put aside,” said Sebi.

He said the reason they had a disagreement in the first place was because he had based their deal on trust and the business element had come later.

“He (Moatshe) said he didn ’ t respond until recently when he said he was contemplating working with me because he didn ’ t wantto work with any- one else. There are no hard feelings. I ’ m open to working with him. We agreed that this time around we need to have an agreement with terms and conditions before we go into studio, ” said Sebi.
