- Vusi Xaba

ANDILE Gaelesiwe, presenter of SABC1 ’ s popular programme Khumbul ’ ekhaya, has fired salvos to a complainant of sexual abuse and Sowetan amid allegations that she harboured an alleged rapist.

Gaelesiwe, who became an instant activist after disclosing how she was sexually abused by a family member when she was a child, told Sowetan to “leave me alone ” when making an inquiry about allegations by her uncle ’ s estranged wife that she (Gaelesiwe) had housed her alleged tormentor.

The estranged husband was mysteriously released from prison, two days after he had been arrested following her laying charges against him.

Immediately after speaking to us and hanging up, Gaelesiwe allegedly called the complainant and then sent her the following SMSes:

“You dare put my name in that story and use me to further your evil gains. I am opening a case of harassment etc etc against you kusasa loku okusayo (tomorrow morning)” and “Your problem is that you are uneducated and manipulative. Follow the law and go to Protea. Mina (I) will teach you and your psuedo journalist snd (sic) police boyfriend a lesson. Uthinte o wrong (sic) (you have touched a wrong person ”.

The SMSes originate from the number we had called her on.

Police spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng yesterday confirmed that they were investigating a case of intimidation. –
