MARAWA BACK ON VUMA FM

- Patience Bambalele

TELEVISION personality and model Vanessa Marawa returns to Vuma FM as a mid-morning presenter. Marawa, who hosted Vuma’s breakfast show in 2013, starts on Monday. The slot was occupied by Jacinta Ngobese, who has left. Marawa said she missed radio while she was away and is excited to reveal her Till Noon with Vanessa show to audiences. The seasoned model explained that when she was approached, she took time to think the offer through. “I realised that I was actually missing radio. I am excited and happy to be back again,” she said. “I love radio because it connects you with the people. I also love the fact that radio is current and exposes you to a lot of information.” Marawa insisted that she found hosting the mid-morning slot more challenging than a breakfast show. She said when she hosted the breakfast show she had a team around her. “When you doing breakfast you do not work alone. You have the team backing you up in everything you do. This time I will be alone, which means I will do everything by myself.” Marawa has promised to keep her show entertaining, informative and educational. “I will have law, health and relationship features. I would love a show that listeners can connect and relate to. There will be a lot of interaction with them, and I invite guests in the studio to tackle certain topics.” Marawa has been modelling for 17 years, and won Survivor in 2006. She has been the face of many products and a brand ambassador, has worked as a tasting room manager for Creation Wines and was a script writer and presenter of The Power Within that was flighted on SABC3.
