EVERY superhero needs a place of refuge where he can relax after saving the world.
The man cave is a reward after a long day’s work, and should be comfortable, entertaining and functional – a place where he can watch sport, play video games or indulge in his hobbies in peace.
But masculine spaces needn’t be boring, cluttered and ugly. When creating the man cave, consider the essential furniture items first, such as a big-screen TV unit, a door fridge with an ice-maker, and a good couch.

It offers users the ability to explore the internet on their TV, and the Snap feature enables you to multitask, where you can run an app in the corner of the screen while you do something else at the same time. For those with a different taste, a cigar lounge has become a popular addition. Since the advent of home automation, a combination of products enables you to open, close, slide and fold different areas in the man cave, to create hidden whiskey cabinets, hidden screens and projectors, and can allow you to have a secret place within the man cave, much like James Bond.
And if a sports centre is your cup of tea, that space needs to be planned properly before being implemented. There’s no point in having all the gear, but not being able to use it properly because the space has not been planned correctly.
When it comes to decor, choose masculine materials that are versatile and hard-wearing, such as leather and wood.
