Buthelezi is on point as leader

-

IT WAS heart-warming again to witness Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi addressing us at Osizweni last Friday.

This was nostalgic in so many ways. It reminded us of the times when he was the chief minister of KwaZulu and so many things he did for the poorest of the poor.

His government was the most underfunded because he quoted Nelson Mandela in his speeches and fought for his unconditional release, long before the Release Mandela Campaign took centre stage.

Shenge did so many things here in Madadeni economically, socially and educationally. He built schools, clinics and Madadeni College of Education. His government also opened the Madadeni Hospital maternity wing.

The KwaZulu government during his time as the chief minster was more in touch with the people on the ground.

Shenge, you were spot-on in your address when you said, “In the 22 years since 1994, South Africa has never been in such a low point of distrust.

“A rift has opened between the government and the people, because of corrupt, uncaring and arrogant leaders. The time is right for a leadership change. If we miss this moment, things will get worse.”

Indeed, we still trust and need Shenge’s leadership.

His track record speaks volumes.
