CHANGE OF GUARD AT METRO

- Patience Bambalele

THREE radio novices have taken over Metro FM’s midmorning slot. Curiously named Whose

Show is It Anyway, the 8am to 10am show will be hosted by Somizi Mhlongo, Khanyi Mbau and Ntombi Ngcobo.

This comes after Mo Flava and Lerato Kganyago were given the afternoon slot after the departure of T-Bo Touch.

The two teams begin their new slots today.

SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago confirmed the changes at Metro FM.

“Management felt that Mo and Lerato were suitable for the afternoon drive, while the three take on the morning show.”

Ngcobo, a well-known television presenter and singer, said she was excited to work with Mhlongo and Mbau. “The show is Whose Show

is It Anyway because the show does not belong to one person. We all have equal duties and roles to play.”

She said the three had a lot in common as they all believed in same values and were all passionate about helping people.

“We click in so many levels. We complement each other.

“Moreover, we have the same passion and want to make the show a success.”

She added: “Through the show, people are going to see the other side that they do not know about us.

“We will be tackling more social issues that people can relate to.”

Ngcobo, who lost a son in December, plan to use the platform to talk to other women who have experienced the pain of losing a child.

Since she was still healing, Ngcobo said she has been yearning for a platform to talk to other women, and it came early.

She said she was looking forward to hosting the show though she was nervous about her first radio gig.
