Metro FM’s new trio ‘too loud’
MIXED REACTION TO MBAU & CO
THE much awaited debut of Whose Show Is It Anyway? on Metro FM was met with mixed reviews yesterday.
The show is hosted by Somizi Mhlongo, Khanyi Mbau and Ntombi Ngcobo.
It is aired between 8am and 10am weekdays. The three took over from the talented pair of Mo Flava and Lerato Kganyago.
As soon as they went live on air, commentators on social networks wasted no time to express their thoughts about the show. Many slammed the presentation by Mhlongo, Ngcobo and Mbau as too loud.
There were some who felt the show had the perfect drive for the midmorning slot.
Those who gave it the thumbs up praised the energy they oozed on air. When contacted for comment, Mbau referred all questions to SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago.
Ngcobo echoed Mbau’s suggestion, and said they were not allowed to comment on the show.
“All questions regarding the show should be directed to Mr Kganyago,” she said.
Mhlongo did not respond to SMS’s sent to him for comment.
DJ Mjora was quick to comment that: “They are not bad, just that their predecessor was extra ordinary.” Nhlanhla Zwane wrote: “uHlaudi
uyasiqhela kakubi shem (Hlaudi is annoy- ing), such wretchedness so early. I’m only here for Ntombi Ngcobo.” Positive Energy twitted: “Metrofm please you need to let go of this #Whose Show Is It Anyway. They were just making a lot of noise.”

What a way to start off Monday. Thanks.” Sowetan tried to get a comment from Kganyago but his phone rang unanswered.
