Poster war

THE IFP has accused the ANC of defacing its posters and pasting ANC posters on top of theirs.

IFP provincial chairman Bonginkosi Dhlamini said the incidents were spotted and photographed by IFP volunteers in Tembisa.

Dhlamini said the party has lodged a complaint with the IEC. “It is clear to the IFP and all law-abiding South African citizens the behaviour of the ANC volunteers undermines the same law each and every political party has agreed and committed to keeping. We take this matter very seriously and that is why we are taking it to the IEC.”

ANC regional secretary Teliswa Mgweba dismissed the allegations. “That one is a pure lie at its best. As the ANC we had our own procured backup boards and posters and [we are] not short of resources as the ANC.”
