‘CBD’ just got more potent

- Tshepang Mailwane

MAMELODI Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane will be the envy of a lot of coaches in the PSL in the coming season.

Sibusiso Vilakazi’s signature has been secured, according to an informant, meaning Sundowns will have the deadliest attack in the league.

The famous CBD of Leonardo Castro, Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly tore defences apart last season and one can only wonder how teams will cope once Sundowns add Vilakazi to make it an awesome foursome.

Mosimane has always admired Vilakazi for his ability to score goals and that’s what Sundowns will need to defend their title.

The experience Vilakazi has gained from playing with Bafana Bafana on the continent will come in handy, though he won’t compete in the CAF Champions League this year because he is cup tied.

In central midfield, Lucky Mohomi has been brought in from Free State Stars and is seen as a replacement for Bongani Zungu, but Tiyani Mabunda has proven he can do the job alongside last season’s PSL footballer of the season nominee Hlompho Kekana. So competition will be tight at Downs once Mohomi is ready to play.

Mohomi will obviously need time to settle in at a big club as this will only be his second season in the PSL.
