Malema a liar and a snake, says Zuma
PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma yesterday likened EFF leader Julius Malema to a snake and called him a liar.
“Don’t vote for the party of the boy from Limpopo, who is disrespectful and a liar,” he said, in an apparent reference to Malema.
Zuma was addressing elderly people, traditional and religious leaders as well as ordinary residents at the Seleka tribal hall in GaSeleka, Limpopo, ahead of a rally at the local stadium to woo supporters to the ANC.
Zuma likened Malema to a snake, saying he was raised under the ANC and later turned against the movement.
“You must be careful not to be misled by a snake. We helped raise a snake which came back to bite us. But the ANC will emerge victorious come the local government elections. We’re banking on your support,” he said.
Zuma urged residents to vote for the ANC as a way of renewing the organisation’s mandate.
“If you go and vote for the ANC in your numbers, you will be giving more powers to the ANC to lead you and better your lives,” said Zuma who had arrived in a chopper.
Congress of Traditional Leaders of SA president Kgoshi Setlamorago Thobejane told ANC supporters not to desert the party as that would be a betrayal of their ancestors.
