SHOWING LOVE OF GOD THROUGH SERVICE

- ANDREW MOKOENA Mokoena is the spokesman for the ACDP

THE African Christian Democratic Party is a party that voters should trust. This is because Christians are honest and will answer both to the voters as well as to God.

The ACDP stands for freedom of religion, a free market economy with a social conscience, family values, community empowerment and human rights in a federal system.

After August 3, it will fix service delivery by maintaining and upgrading water, sewerage, road and electricity infrastructure.

It will employ municipal managers and general workers with the necessary skills and experience and allow community organisations to help oversee service delivery programmes.

The ACDP will prevent corruption by strengthening municipal public accounts committees and by prosecuting the corrupt and making them pay back the money.

We will hold companies accountable for pollution, prevent flooding and potholes by improving storm water drains, promote recycling and build new houses with geyser blankets, rainwater tanks and solar panels.

To alleviate poverty, the ACDP will help grow small businesses by helping locally owned spaza shops in the townships and rural areas with financial assistance and training, and ensure there is fair and equal access to markets for local owners who compete with increasing numbers of foreign-owned businesses.

We will enforce the by-laws to stop spaza owners sleeping and staying in food shops, employ health inspectors to check on small food traders, train and mentor aspiring entrepreneurs, especially youth and women.

We have realised that every vote counts and that every party has a role to play and a voice that must be heard.

The ACDP has consistently supported Christian principles and family values in Parliament and at municipalities since 1994 – that is our mandate.

This year, there are 11 municipalities across the country in which we stand a chance to be kingmakers – as there is a good chance that no party will win outright.

The ACDP will provide communities with councillors who are reliable and trustworthy. Our councillors will be passionate about improving the lives of our people and seeing to their needs.

As Christian politicians we are nation builders. We believe in the kind of servant leadership that will restore to our people what rightfully belongs to them.

We want to show South Africans the love of God through proper service delivery – governing with integrity is our calling.

“Governing with integrity is the ACDP calling
