ANC ignores farm workers’ plight

- Martha Mphelo,

IT’S a total shame that a young man such as Victor Mlotshwa has become a victim of two racist boys under the ANC’s watch.

Regardless of all the efforts by society, be it human rights groups, political parties or civic society, the truth is that blacks will remain vulnerable to white supremacy.

These racists will always regard themselves as our superiors as long as there are still laws today from our apartheid past.

The government of today is doing absolutely nothing to address critical issues such as rapes facing farm dwellers and farm workers.

There are cases where black women end up conceiving after being raped by white farmers. The poor women will either not report the cases or, when reported, they will never get a day in a court of law.

Our government failed us from the start when they couldn’t guarantee a black child proper education. Our children either drop out of school or become unemployable after matric.

Poverty and a lack of proper education make blacks to find themselves at the mercy of cruel white men.

How surprising that to the SAPS this case was dead and buried? Thanks to the EFF for exposing this vile case to the general public. It’s time the ANC addressed the plight of farm workers.
