MR MCSTEAMY LIKES THIS TRACK AND TRIP

Trainer Garth Puller has found a good race for him

- RACING EDITOR

THE King’s Chapel gelding Mr McSteamy does not win often having only won twice in 18 starts but trainer Garth Puller may have found the perfect race for him and in Race 6, a MR 66 Divided Handicap over 1000m on the Greyville Polytrack today he will prove hard to beat.

This course and distance suits Mr McSteamy and it is good to see that Anton Marcus is aboard the four-yearold gelding. Another plus for Mr McSteamy is he is drawn in stall No 2 so Marcus can be aggressive and try and make all the running.

The opposition is not very strong and although Winter Darling, Sarabi and All True Man are all capable of winning they will need luck in running.

The Doug Campbell-trained The Grey Crusader has run two decent races and is the one to beat in Race 1.

Visiting jockey Gavin Lerena will be riding this Crusade gelding.

There was a lot to like about the second run of the Dennis Drier-trained Dream De Ra and she should win Race 2, a Maiden Plate over 1200m.

This daughter of the very classy Val De Ra was very green and never in the race on debut but followed that up just on a month later with a good runner-up berth behind Show Me Your Rosie over this course and distance.

A wide draw of 13 will make it tough for jockey Anthony Delpech but Dream De Ra needs to win this if she has any hope of reaching her breeding potential.

The Michael Roberts-trained Seatops is one of those rare fillies to win a feature race on debut so it was a bit surprising that she has not won since but blinkers were reached for last time out and she ran a decent race to be runner-up behind Je Suis Silver.

If she can follow up on that good effort she may well win Race 5, a MR 70 Divided Handicap over 1000m. Keagan de Melo has won on her so will know how to get the job done again.
