Wild Horizon bounces back to winning form
Joe Soma’s runner wins an exciting finish
Punters were treated ishes at Turffontein on Saturday. Jockey Weichong Marwing was the only rider with a double at the meeting, riding Spring Wonder to victory In Race 3 and Bondiblu in Race 7. We are seeing Marwing riding all over the country - and often - so is clearly he is not being troubled by his back problem. After a couple of scratchings in Race 1 Serendipity was sent out a short-priced favourite and took up the running briefly 400m out. But it soon became apparent that Beautiful Emmilee was travelling better and the King’s Apostle filly drew away for a very easy win. Trainer Roy Magner sent out two runners in Race 2 with Celtic Lady a lot shorter on the tote than Osculation but that meant nothing lation won and Celtic Lady was unplaced. Osculation had been a struggling maiden reeling off numerous places but clearly the confidence of her last win has got her to improve further and she just fought off Varsity Princess. ly Secret Star was backed in to be a short-priced favourite of the opening leg of the Pick 6 but clearly found the 1160m too short. Spring Wonder on the other hand was ish ride by Marwing ishing My funny valentine with Shivering Sea third. Trainer Alec Laird has his yard in good form and Pure Blonde doubled up on his win this month by winning very easily In Race 4. This Kahal gelding is improving and can be followed. After disappointing in his last start the Fort Wood five year old Wild Horizon proved too good for some hard-knocking types to win Race 6 comfortably. Candice Dawson had a good weekend ly Sylvan On Fire showed she is ahead of the handicapper with a good win in Race 5. This Silvano lowed. The only real disappointment for punters at this meeting was the run of Dalley as at the weights she looked a good thing but could only trail in a wel- beaten third behind Bondiblu and Cranberry Crush who she had thrashed earlier this year.
