The man who shot and killed his wife while she was teaching at a school in Mpumalanga had been posting spine-chilling posts about death, murder and suicide on his social media pages.

According to Vusi Mdluli’s Facebook page, he was aggrieved for months, leading to Monday’s events where he gunned down his wife Kate Chiloane, 30, and later turned the gun on himself while at home. He died at the scene.

Sowetan has been able to trace the spooky posts to February 13 when Mdluli, 40, posted a picture bearing the words: “I was told not to hurt the heart of the one I love so much. But when I was so busy taking care of that heart... I never noticed, my own was BLEEDING.”

On Sunday night, he wrote: “I’m so broke I think to br [borrow] my family a money wen I die so the[y] can berry [bury] me... (sic)”

Earlier in the day, he had posted twice: “I dnt want someone to come in my funeral n cry. I will f*** him up wen him come to heaven. (sic)”

“To go to sangoma every day is a wast [waste] of money coz your know wt u dd wrong in u [your] Life. So your thnk him [he] can protect u. (sic)”

Mdluli celebrated his birthday on April 9 and there were no posts from then until April 21 when he posted a picture of a woman bleeding from the heart with the words: “Nobody knows what I feel! Am in pain.”

He also posted an image about cheating and betrayal.

On June 8, he posted a pic- ture of a grave site, whose Sotho text means: Your promiscuity and cleverness will end up here [in the grave].”

On June 30, he posted a status about not “begging someone to be in your life”.

On July 4, he posted a status which implied that his wife was cheating on him.

The next day, he posted a picture of himself and his wife in her graduation gown. The couple are holding hands. He also posted a picture bearing words that talk about hardships in relationships.

Later in the month he posted a series of statuses, which read: “Same people can push you in last lvl but thr r not aware”, “This world is 2smll to run” and “Haven is calling me new [now]. [sic]”

In another chilling post, he posted two pictures, one which has a mansion, clothing and cars, alongside pictures of a dead body and coffins.
