Nyatama the hero as his goal sinks Celtic
Orlando Pirates ended their six-game winless run in the Absa Premiership with Musa Nyatama haunting his former club Bloemfontein Celtic at Dr Molemela Stadium yesterday.
Nyatama’s cool finish in the second half ensured the Buccaneers also broke the chain of draws that had bedevilled the domestic league at the weekend.
Six Absa Premiership fixtures ended in stalemates between Saturday and yesterday.
Pirates feat was a second Premiership win recorded following Mamelodi Sundowns’ 2-0 win over Bidvest Wits in midweek.
Before yesterday’s victory, Pirates’ had last won a league game two months ago when they beat Cape Town City 1-0 at FNB Stadium on September 19.
Bucs coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic made three changes from their goalless stalemate against Golden Arrows midweek.
Luvuyo Memela and Thamsanqa Sangweni made the starting 11 ahead of Mark van Heerden and Thembinkosi Lorch.
Sangweni returned to action after missing most of the club’s opening matches due to injury he sustained against Chippa United in August.
