Seripane’s house always a hive of activity with residents seeking help

David Bernard Seripane, also known as “Ntate Ncheme”, will be buried in Soweto tomorrow.

Seripane, who was a political activist and a member of the ANC, died at the Chris Hani Baragwanat­h Academic Hospital on Tuesday last week after a courageous battle with diabetes.

Born in 1946, Seripane died just a month before his 71st birthday.

He was respected by the community of Tladi for his good heart and his helping hand despite his illness.

People from all ages were always at his house in Tladi seeking assistance and he never turned anyone away but always tried get to find a solution to their problems.

He helped members of the community tackle labour disputes, assisting others with pension fund claims, as well as securing bursaries for students, among other things.

Seripane’s selflessne­ss was inspiring as he also extended his helping hand to the destitute.

He attended school at Pax High, a public Roman Catholic boarding school in GaMashasha­ne, west of Polokwane in Limpopo.

Seripane is survived by his wife Micky Keadiang, two sons Ngwaneso and Tebogo, and grandchild­ren Tsholofelo, Mutshidzi and Tshedza.
