Coys, Vision Of Trust on the Edge Of Glory

Scottsville provides a tempting Pick 6

- By Racing Editor

Coys was an unlucky loser in his latest effort when nabbed on the line, beaten 0.15 lengths into second by Pure Logic. He is the model of consistency and could repay his loyal supporters with a decent payday when he lines up Race 6, a MR 72 Handicap over 1950m at Scottsville today.

Paul Lafferty’s charge seems to have found his niche over the course and distance having run three times for two seconds an a victory. In his defence, he had to overcome bad draws in both losses.

The draw will once again be the chink in his armour today. He is drawn a wide No 10 draw in a 12-horse field, however, he has proven he has the class to do so. In his advantage, he will have the experienced Gunter Wrogemann in the irons, so he’s in with a massive chance.

A three-year-old son of Uncle Mo, Coys could prove better than rated, plus he is well in at the weights, carrying 55kg. Light weight helps, we saw this with Oh Susanna in the Met on Saturday.

For Exactas and Swingers box him with Anthony Delpech’s mount Hero Quest, a gelding who will be chasing a third consecutive victory.

If you’re looking for a banker in all bets, there is none better than Vision Of Trust in Race 3, a Maiden Plate over 1000m. He is the joint best weighted runner in the field with King Kotini. However, the latter returns from a 108-day rest, and his form isn’t encouraging.

Vision Of Trust on the other hand has only run unplaced once in in his seven starts. He also has the strongest form in the field and reunites with long time collaborator Stuart Randolph.

Edge Of Glory should be great value for money in Race 2, a Maiden Plate over 1200m. He is another who has not had the luck of the draws.

Not only was he drawn wide last time, but he also hung in and was reported as coughing. If hassle free he’ll be hard to beat running down the straight.
