Imbewu star Raphael Griffiths is spreading his wings to radio.

Griffiths, who made his name playing Vusi Mukwevho on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, has joined KwaZuluNatal’s regional commercial station Gagasi FM.

Currently portraying Zithulele on’s Imbewu: The Seed, the actor is excited to finally break into radio.

Griffiths and his friend of 10 years, Lungelo Sithole aka Lunique, host a show on Saturday and Sunday between 1am and 4am.

“We have been sending in demos for years and finally Gagasi gave us a chance.

“So far so good and we are enjoying ourselves,” Griffiths said.

“Our show targets people who are going to parties or those driving from parties. And, there are those who start work at 5am.”

Gagasi FM PR and marketing manager Khulekani Shandu said: “We saw that they both fit in at our station. We believe they will deliver.”
