Ignoring kids’ abuse claims criminal

-

This thing of adults raping children is not new. The only reason such scumbags got away with it in the past was because of blanket respect that was reserved for all adults.

Kids couldn’t bring themselves to accuse an adult of such acts.

I’m troubled by the Daveyton mother who asked her daughter what rape is after she had told the mom of the abuse. These are the kind of questions that discourage kids from reporting these paedophiles in future.

The fact that she had told her father but no action was taken means the kid could have easily shut up. Her rapist would have interpreted her silence as licence to rape her again.

The action by her parents is puzzling at the best. I’m just glad action has been taken at last.

My worry is, the rapist could have raped other kids after he raped her. Such a scumbag should never have walked freely after raping her. As parents, we need to up our game for the future of our kids and country. Parents should be primary protectors and defenders of their little ones. Sexual crimes perpetrated against kids mean we can no longer afford to doubt what kids are telling us. Parents who don’t act soon after the rape are compromising investigations. The best scenario is for the victim not to wash and have semen and/or DNA taken as soon as possible.
