Nordic leagues keep big payouts coming

CARRYOVER SHOULD DRIVE SOCCER 13 POOL TO R20 MILLION

- By Mark Gleeson

The majority of European football leagues are on a break now, albeit just weeks away from commencing pre-season training in preparation for the next campaign, but in the traditionally colder climes domestic football is in full swing.

Nordic countries hold their league campaigns from March through October because of severe winters, while Ireland does the same to give its league some breathing room and to avoid being overwhelmed by football from across the water in England.

It is also now approaching mid-season in the Baltic region and Belarus. It means a constant menu of matches for TAB soccer customers, who over the years have become familiar with teams like Osters Vaxjo, Finn Harps and Valur Rejkjavik.

All the leagues currently in play are highly competitive and offer plenty of scope to win handsome dividends with Soccer 6, Soccer 10 and Soccer 13 bets as recent weeks have shown.

And bumper payouts are on the cards in both Soccer 13 pools this weekend. Both pools will be boosted by carryovers with tomorrow’s pool set to total over R20 million.

The big-gun clubs may be taking a break, but there’s no holiday for the great stars of the game. Cristiano Ronaldo has just taken Portugal to the first Nations League title, while Lionel Messi this weekend begins his quest to finally win something at national team level with Argentina among the hot tips for Copa America glory.

The Copa America tournament is being hosted by Brazil, who must still atone for failing to win the 2014 World Cup on home soil. That embarrassing 7-1 loss to Germany in the semi-finals remains a huge blot on Brazil’s record.

We are also only one week away from the kick-off of the African Cup of Nations in Cairo next Friday.

Last-minute friendlies are being played with all 24 competitors having named their 23-man squads for the month-long tournament. Cup of Nations matches will dominate TAB soccer pools in coming weeks, which together with Scandinavian action are sure to generate some life-changing Soccer 10 payouts!
