* Luis Suarez was named in Uruguay’s final squad of 23 players for Copa America despite continuing to recover from a knee injury. Suarez missed Barcelona’s last matches of the season, including the Copa del Rey final loss to Valencia after having an operation.

* With Neymar on the sidelines, Dani Alves will captain Brazil at the Copa America. He is back at full fitness, while Alisson pips Manchester City’s Ederson for the goalkeeper’s jersey after both saw action for the national team this year.

* Atletico Madrid have known since March that star man Antoine Griezmann was going to move to Barcelona, according to club CEO Gil Marin. The 28-year-old Frenchman has confirmed to the club his desire to leave, but has also been linked with a possible move to the Premiershi­p in England. * USA defender Tyler Adams is out of the Concacaf Gold Cup because of chronic groin issues. The RB Leipzig youngster is replaced by FC Dallas right-back Reggie Cannon.

* Romelu Lukaku has revealed he has made a decision on his Manchester United future as Inter Milan continue to keep tabs on his status there. The striker had a tough season at club level in which he lost his place in the first team at Old Trafford. Lukaku struggled to impress under Jose Mourinho’s leadership at the start of last season and continued to underwhelm when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced the sacked manager in December.
