5 TAB carryovers as big guns roll back into action

-

Here comes another blockbuster weekend for TAB soccer customers that rolls a Nedbank Cup final, the kickoff of the 2020-21 English Premiership and Spain’s La Liga and five carryover pools into two fabulous days.

The carryovers include R250,000 to tomorrow’s headline Soccer 10 pool (S10 V2), which is set to total some R2.5 million and offers prospects of a huge payout.

Supporters may still be barred and the season is kicking off a month behind schedule, but there is an air of a return to normality in England as the new league gets under way.

Liverpool begin the defence of their English Premier League title at home to Leeds United tomorrow, reviving one of the great rivalries of the 1970s. It will be a tough return to the top flight for Leeds and a harsh baptism of fire for coach Marcelo Bielsa.

The eccentric Argentine will have several plans concocted to upend Liverpool at Anfield, but ultimately Jurgen Klopp’s men should be too polished.

Arsenal should win against Fulham but London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have a tough opener on Sunday against Everton, who have been making some interesting signings as boss Carlo Ancelotti builds a new team.

Manchester City and Manchester United have extra time off, but Chelsea will be in action on Monday, where they should win away at Brighton and Hove Albion.

In Spain, the clubs that participated in the recent final stages of Champions League and Europa League (Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sevilla), also have extra time and do not play this weekend.

But La Liga will kick off with seven games including Levante at Valencia, who have been selling off their best players to cut the wage bill and could be vulnerable to an early season setback.
