Summer Pudding named Horse Of The Year
Summer Pudding was named South Africa’s Horse Of The Year at a virtual Equus Award ceremony viewed on TellyTrack last night.
Trained by Paul Peter and owned by Mauritzfontein (Pty) Ltd, the daughter of Silvano captured the imagination of the South African racing public with her victories in the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara, which comprised the Grade 2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas over 1600m, the Grade 1 SA Fillies Classic over 1800m, and the Grade 2 SA Oaks over 2450m, and then went on to win the Grade 1 Woolavington 2000 at Greyville.
She remains unbeaten in seven starts. The results of the 2020 virtual Equus Awards were revealed this evening by Masters of Ceremony, Neil Andrews and Nico Kritsiotis. Equine winners:
